In January 2022, Tarik Mendes launched Tarik Talk, an international documentary podcast series dedicated to contemporary art, culture, and the people shaping today’s creative landscape.
Created, produced, filmed, and hosted by Mendes, Tarik Talk extends his engagement with contemporary art beyond his own studio practice by documenting the voices, ideas, processes, and personal histories of artists and cultural figures around the world.
With more than 200 episodes across over 30 seasons, Tarik Talk has been recorded live in more than 10 countries, featuring conversations with artists, curators, gallery directors, museum professionals, collectors, architects, designers, and other cultural leaders.
Episodes are recorded in artist studios, museums, galleries, art fairs, cultural institutions, public art spaces, and other locations, creating a growing audiovisual archive of contemporary artistic practice and culture.
Through Tarik Talk, Mendes brings together his roles as an artist, interviewer, filmmaker, producer, and cultural documentarian, creating a long-term record of the artists, places, and ideas defining contemporary culture.
